چکیده
DESCRIPTION A 67-year-old man presented with sudden onset shortness of breath that began while playing golf. Abdominal examination revealed a large mass extending to the umbilicus. CT pulmonary angiog-raphy demonstrated a pulmonary embolus and a Figure 1 Axial section of abdominal CT reveals a large hepatic cyst in the right lobe of the liver. Figure 2 Coronal section of a T2-weighted MRI showing compression of the inferior vena cava by a large hepatic cyst. Figure 3 Intraoperative images demonstrating (A) large hepatic cyst on the right lobe of the liver, (B) excision of hepatic cyst laparoscopically, (C) inferior vena cava compression from large cyst with no evidence of thrombosis and (D) cholecystectomy.

Right adrenal gland pseudocyst masquerading as a large symptomatic hepatic cyst: Single incision laparoscopic (SILS) resection and a review of current literature
Adrenal pseudocysts are rare entities, which are usually asymptomatic. Large symptomatic adrenal pseudocysts may cause compressive symptoms. The etiology of these cysts is unknown, although the cyst wall is all lined by fibrous tissue, without any epithelial or endothelial lining. We report a case of a 26-year-old lady who presented with a symptomatic right adrenal pseudocyst measuring 7.6 cm i...
متن کاملA man with dilated superficial abdominal veins.
Background: The clinical presentation of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) varies tremendously depending upon the type of lymphoma and the areas of involvement. NHL can rarely present as an abdominal mass compressing the inferior vena cava. The clinical presentation due to obstruction of inferior vena cava has often been called the inferior vena cava syndrome (IVCS). It can present acutely or chronica...
متن کاملHydatid cyst of the liver causing inferior vena caval obstruction.
Hydatid disease (cystic echinococcosis) is a zoonotic infection caused by larval forms of the tapeworm Echinococcus granulosus. Most common site for cysts is liver and hepatic hydatidosis has a diverse clinical spectrum. Mostly they remain asymptomatic and uncomplicated. Here we report a case of a 50 yr old farmer admitted for renal disease, who was incidentally found to have inferior vena cava...
متن کاملPulmonary Embolism as a Rare Complication of Liver Hydatid Cyst: Report of Two Cases
Hydatid cyst is a helminth infection. The rupture of a hepatic hydatid cyst in inferior vena cava is a rare and lethal complication. Pulmonary embolism is the commonest manifestation. The diagnosis of hydatid cyst is made by histopathological or serological examination, and imaging may suggest the probability of hydatid cyst. Surgical treatment should be performed with caution and always under ...
متن کاملBudd-Chiari syndrome due to giant hydatid cyst: a case report and brief literature review.
Budd-Chiari syndrome is an uncommon disorder characterized by the thrombotic or non-thrombotic obstruction of hepatic venous outflow anywhere along the venous course from the hepatic venules to the junction of the inferior vena cava and the right atrium. The etiology of Budd-Chiari syndrome is classified as primary, attributable to intrinsic intraluminal thrombosis or the development of venous ...
